Communications & Community Building
Purpose: Provide regular information to the IPC membership that results in greater awareness of IPC’s mission and a higher rate of participation
Objectives:
COMMUNICATION
- Update IPC National website with new information on a monthly basis (minimum).
- Issue electronic newsletter four times per year (minimum).
- Provide outlet for general membership to contact IPC with general or chapter-related news that can be distributed to the larger population.
- Promote national and chapter events.
- Encourage more alumni to join the national listserv (as of December 2008 only 2,200 alumni are on the listserv compared to a total of 3,600 black alumni) and the IPC Facebook group (as of December 2008 there were 222 members)
- Respond to inquires from general membership within three business days and forward to alternate contact(s) as appropriate.
LOCAL CHAPTER REPRESENTATION & SUPPORT
- Maintain communication with all local chapters to be aware of news and events on a local level.
- Provide a contact list of local alums to local chapter leaders.
- Create and maintain a regional listserv for each local chapter to facilitate communication with members in that geographic area.
